Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard surfaces
A revitalized Medvedev won his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with success over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
The Russian, a former number one, has had a torrid period, winning just a single victory at the big events and experiencing a setback at the US Open.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serve in particular - caused him exiting of the top ten and eventually splitting with long-time mentor Cervara.
Presently training with his coach and Goetzke, he has gradually progressed in the past month - climaxing in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over Frenchman Moutet.
It is his first title after the Rome competition and maiden on a hard surface from spring of the previous year.
The win also means the Russian has won twenty-one championships at 21 various competitions.
"It's the first time I have attended a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," stated world number 14 Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I got when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had been defeated in his last six finals, including in that event earlier this year.
Medvedev's retrieving approach and regular reactions on court had prompted commentators to question if his ability to perform at the top level was concluded.
Yet the athlete has implemented adjustments in the past month, making an effort to come to the net and compete positively, reinforced by an improved serving game.
The champion recovered from a break down in the opening set against the difficult Frenchman, securing four of the final five exchanges to gain the advantage.
The competitors traded service breaks in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his initial ATP Tour victory, took control to force a third set.
He defended 4 early break points in a close deciding set before the Russian won the break to 15 to secure the win.
Appropriately, the winner secured victory with a point at the net area, with his opponent incapable to manage a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
